Even though the "hands facing space" principle is certainly a the norm in our lives, there's no doubt that the confidence in Rotary is increasing and more members are making face-toface connections. The Rotary organization has evolved. In the summer months in 2021 there's a lingering sense of uncertainty about whether our social service will include the much-valued human connection experienced by Rotary participants in the past. Although the mantra of hands faces will certainly be part of our ongoing program, it's clear that the confidence building is evident and more face-to-face connections are happening. Rotary is changing too. Rotary's networks create relationships lasting. The pandemic served as an impetus for us to adopt the latest technology. For the sake of keeping our online business meetings, we've brought back service and social events in a safe face-to-face setting. New possibilities are paired with the best practices for preventing pandemics to create a new and bright future for Rotary. It's an encouraging thing to hear that 75% of Rotary clubs intend to keep their "business like usual" activities. In the summer months there have been a lot of Rotary members have been out with their families and friends, working on various initiatives, including beach and river clean-ups, litter removal and beach cleanups.
